October 2020 Construction Update

We wish to provide an update on the construction progress of our Hawthorn Park apartment development.

As you are aware, the entire construction industry encountered delays across Victoria restrictions that are a result of the Victorian State Government’s measures for COVID-19. We appreciate your patience and understanding during these unprecedented times.

As of the end of September, the workforce limit was raised by the State Government from 25% of the baseline to 85% on construction sites for large scale projects, such as Hawthorn Park. With this easing, the Developer has been working closely with their partner builder Hickory Group as well as other project team members to assure the delivery of the project, while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.

Whilst we continue to monitor and adhere to the State Government’s recent policies, we are happy to inform you that construction continues to progress.

Presently, settlement is anticipated to commence around end of February 2021. Valuation Inspection is expected to commence Late November 2020.  (Once we have confirmed date of bank valuation inspection, we will send out the notice to you by e-mail. Please note that bank valuation inspection is for bank valuers only. You will have an opportunity to inspect your apartment shortly.)

August 2020 Construction Update

We wish to bring you a quick update on the construction progress of Hawthorn Park.

As you may be aware, the State of Victoria recently entered into Stage 4 COVID Lockdown at the beginning of August with high levels of restrictions placed across industries, businesses and social settings.

The construction industry is no different. Since the announcement of these Stage 4 restrictions, the Hawthorn Park team have been working closely with industry bodies, the government and its agencies to continue Hawthorn Park construction activities where possible whilst complying with the latest workforce restrictions, however the pace of construction has slowed considerably. This reduced construction momentum is evident across the whole building industry currently.

The Developer wishes to assure you that they, their partner builder Hickory Group and other project team members remain focused and committed to the delivery of Hawthorn Park. Works at Hawthorn Park have made significant progress prior to the lockdown and had progressed to mainly internal fit out phase with the external building envelopment essentially completed.

However, given the present challenges as explained above, we do not anticipate that construction completion and settlement can be achieved this year. Nonetheless, we now anticipate the likely completion and settlement of Hawthorn Park to occur in Q1 2021, pending the Victorian Government’s lifting of Stage 4 restrictions by September and barring any further lockdown measures.

We will endeavor to provide you with regular monthly updates, with the next one by the end of September on the project progress and the anticipated settlement date, to keep pace with government policy announcements and the situation in Victoria as it continues to evolve.
